Frequently asked questions

What happens at the first visit?
We listen to your concerns, examine you and review any previous scans. We usually request suitable imaging, then explain the diagnosis, options, approximate cost and timeline before any decision is made. Please bring earlier scans and reports.
Is the surgery painful?
Operations are done under anaesthesia suited to their type (local or general), so you feel no pain during surgery. Afterwards some discomfort and swelling are expected and controlled with prescribed medication, and you receive clear instructions for the first days.
How long does an implant take to complete?
It depends on bone quality and tooth position. Generally the bone fuses with the implant over several weeks to months before the final crown, and some cases allow an early temporary crown. We will set your timeline after the exam.
Does jaw-joint pain always need surgery?
No. Most cases improve with conservative care: habit changes, exercises, medication and splints. Surgery or arthroscopy is advised only when that fails or there is a clear mechanical cause.
When is cleft lip and palate surgery done?
It happens in stages. The lip is usually repaired in the first months and the palate near the end of the first year or shortly after, but timing is set for each child after examination and together with the wider care team.
Can a specific result be guaranteed?
No surgeon can guarantee a specific outcome because every person responds differently. What we commit to is accurate diagnosis, careful planning, honest explanation of expectations, risks and alternatives, and regular follow-up.
